A New Objective Accommodometer

緒言

　視力を正しく測定するためには，視標の位置に正しく調節しているかどうかを確認することが必要であるが，従来の方法ではそれを簡単に確認することができなかつた。また，他覚的に調節を測定しようとする試みはなされてはいるが，まだ試験的な段階であつて，調節状態を簡便容易に把握できる方法はない。

　今回，視標を固視しているときの調節状態を他覚的に測定する装置を新たに老案した。この装置により正常者を検査したところ，調節量を正確に測定することができ，また，技術的にも非固視眼の屈折力の変化をレフラクトメーターで測定するだけの簡単なものであるから容易であり，臨床応用が可能であることが確かめられたので，ここに報告したいと思う。

An objectively measurable accommodometer was designed and was put to clinical trial. It purports to estimate the state of refraction of one eye while the fellow eye is fixated upon a target which is presented at a certain adjustable distance.

The prelminary trial in 20 emmetropic eyes in younger subjects corroborated the soundness of the basic assumption that the amount of accommodation is practically the same in both eyes. Further, the present method has shown satisfactory reproducibility in the same test subject.
