緒言
わが国のsoft C.Lもようやく実用化の段階に入ろうとしているが,その性状はまだ十分に解明されたとは言えない。

The depletion course of epithelial glycogen of rabbit corneas fitted with hard acrylic and hyd-rogel contact lenses was followed up to 48 hours. Marked decrease in the intensity of periodic acid-Schiff reaction of the epithelium was observed with hard lenses in 3 hours. With hydrogel lenses, however, the decrease was not evident during 48 hours of wear.
Both types of the lenses induced the lowering of glucose concentration in the rabbit aqueos, but it was retarded and less significant with hydrogel lenses.
