新生児にみられた原発性眼窩悪性血管腫の1例

A Case Report of Malignant Vascular Tumor of the Orbit in a New Born

緒言

　眼窩に原発する腫瘍の中で，血管腫は比較的多く認められているが，ほとんどのものが良性であり，悪性は非常にまれであると考えられている^1）。

　文献によると，Reese^2）（1963）は，109例の原発性眼窩腫瘍中25例（22.9％）が血管腫であつたと報告し，Farrest^3）（1949）は184例中25例（13.4％）が良性血管腫であり，1例（0.54％）のみが悪性血管腫であつたと述べている。

A 13-day-old male baby was seen on account of proptosis of the right eye. The proptosis had been present already at the birth and showed a remarkable day-to-day progression.

Surgical removal of a retrobulbar solid tumor mass was conducted upon the strong suspicion of a malignancy because of its acute develop-ment. Two different types of malignant haeman-gioma were revealed upon histopathological examinations. One belonged to the type of hae-mangiopericytoma characterized by capillary pro-liferation accompanied by a cluster of spindle-shaped cells.
