  • Look Inside

Teratogenicities of antiviral ophthalmics such as IDU (5-iodo-2'-deoxyuridine 1mg/ml and thi-merosal 0.02 mg/ml) and F3TDR (trifluorothy-midine 10 mg/ml) have been evaluated on rab-bits (Japan albino) and rats (Wister).

Pregnant rabbits wers divided into 5 groups. All groups received O.1ml of antiviral ophthal-mic or control solution 4 to 6 times a day via conjunctival sac on days 6 through 18 of gesta-tion. Pregnant rats were divided into 3 groups and each group received 0.2ml of antiviral oph-thalmic or physiological saline by subcutaneous injection every day on days 6 through 18 of gestation.
