涙嚢摘出後涙道形成術の一成功例

Reconstruction of the Lacrimal Passage Following Dacryocystectomy

緒言

　涙道疾患の治療の目的は，導涙機能の保持および回復にある。

　涙嚢摘出を余儀なくされた症例に，涙小管涙嚢窩を経て鼻涙管を利用した涙道形成術を行なつた所，幸いにして成功した。

A case is reported in whom patency of the lacrimal passage was secured after surgical re-moval of the lacrimal sac by means of a new technique devised by the author. The surgical method, tentatively named "reconstructive ca-naliculonasolacrimalostomy" consists of the fol-lowing procedures.

After routine dacryocystectomy, a vinyl tube is passed through the lower canaliculus, the lacrimal fossa and the nasolacrimal duct. The tube is kept in place during the following 31 days. After its removal, irrigation of the lac-rimal passage is conducted daily or every other day for a few weeks.
