Successful Reconstruction of the Lacrimal Passage Following Dacryocystcctomy

緒言

　涙嚢摘出後，涙小管涙嚢窩を経て，鼻涙管を利用した涙道形成術を行ない，幸いにして成功した例をすでに報告^1）した。

　今までにわが国はもちろん，最近の諸外国の文献にもそのような例を見ない。

A case is presented in whom the patency of the lacrimal passage was secured after prior surgical dacryocystectomy. The present surgi-cal method is tentatively named as reconstruc-tive canaliculo-nasolacrimaloplasty and consists of canaliculoplasty and reconstructive nasola-crimaloplasty.

After routine dacryocystectomy, a vinyl tube is passed through the upper and lower canaliculi.A gauge-3 uretheral catheter is passed through the lacrimal fossa and the nasolacrimal duct.The tube is kept in place during the following 7 weeks.
