未熟児網膜症の急速な増悪と光凝固

Photocoagulation for Retinopathy of Prematurity

緒言

　未熟児網膜症は，われわれの1967年3月から1970年6月迄の3年3カ月，262例の観察では9.2％の頻度で発生している（第1表）。その大部分は軽症であり，重篤な後遺症を残さず自然に治癒してゆく。しかし一部少数例には進行性のものもあり，かかる症例の自験例2例，他の病院から紹介された3例について，永田^1）の提案に従つて光凝固を行なつたので報告する。

During the period from March 1967 throughJune 1970, fundus examination was conducted in 262 cases of premature infants who were admitted to the premature infant ward of the authors' hospital. The retinopathy of prema-turity developed in 24 cases or at the rate of 9.2%.

The progression of retinopathy of prematurity was very rapid in some cases and, in particular, during the active stage III of Owens. In these cases, no medical treatment seemed to be of definite value.
