可動性義眼を着用していた眼の眼窩内に発生した悪性黒色腫1例

Occurrence of Malignant Melanoma after Prolonged Use of Prosthesis

I．まえがき

　従来，眼科におけるmalignant melanomaの例は，外国においては数多く報告されているにかかわらず，わが国においては稀なものとされてきた。しかし，最近はその報告も急に増加してきているようであるが，この腫瘍が，7年前に眼球内容除去を受け，その時に可動性義眼を装用した眼の，眼窩に発生し，かなりの大きさに発育するまで，なんらの症状も現わさなかったという例はきわめて稀有で，かつ示唆に富むと考えるので，御参考に供したく思う。

A case is described in which malignant me-lanoma of the orbit developed seven years after exenteration of the eye due to absolute glau-coma. Past histories indicate that the melano-ma had already been present before exentera-tion and that its presence had been masked through motile prosthesis worn by the patient during 7 years. As peritoneal metastasis had already been established at the time of digno-sis of the orbital melanoma, the female patient died at the age of 47 years. Postomortem stu-dies showed the melanoma to be of mixed type consisting of spindle and epitheloid cells.
