  • Look Inside

As to ischemic optic neuropathy only seven cases in five papers have been reported in Ja-pan. In the present report the authors describe 2 cases of ischemic optic neuro-pathy.

The first case was a 67-year-old man who complained of pallor and pain of fingertip of both hands. He was treated with Priscol as Rainaud's disease but no response was noted. Then periarterial sympathectomy of brachial artery of both side was performed under local anesthesia. During and after the operation blood transfusion was not performed and 500 ml of 5% glucose solution was injected. After the operation both eyes suddenly went blind.
