Improved continuous irrigation

Ⅰ．はじめに

　Continuous IrrigationはLippasによつて始められた極めて独創的な洗眼法で角膜潰瘍と酸アルカリによる角膜腐蝕に適応された。この方法の普及によりこれら眼疾患は比較的容易に治癒すると期待される。

　われわれはLippasの原法を改良し，2,3の患者に応用してみたので報告する。

Several improvements of Lippas's continu-ous irrigation technique are attempted.

Free end of polyethylene tube, passed su-bcutaneously through the eyelid, is drawn out from the plica for 10cm and is knotted. At 7-8cm below from the end of the tube a little hole is opened and is placed to face the plica after drawing the tube backwards. The polyethylene tube is then anchored to the skin at the zygoma, forehead and eyebrow. By this method the tube remains in position longer and easily returns to proper position even if its dislocation occurs.
