  • Look Inside

Experimental and clinical studies were con-ducted on zonulolysis by Pronase which has high Proteolytic ability.

After removing the cornea and the iris from enucleated eyeball of rabbit and bovine, the eyeballs were hung at the anterior sur-face of the lens by Bell's erisophake. Pronase-dropping, diluted at various concentrations, onto the preparated eyeballs produced marked zonulolytic action.

However, injection of the enzyme of high concentration into the anterior chamber of the rabbit eye showed damage, except when concentration of the enzyme was less than 80,000 times (ca. 1 P.U. K./ml).
