Intralmellar transplantation of acrylic meshes and discs

　合成樹脂線維の著しい進歩は医学領城に代用組織の概念を生むに至つた。それはこれらの中には生体内に埋没されても長く生体組織に障害を与えないものがあるからである。即ち代用膜（腹膜，硬膜）人工骨，代用血管をはじめとして2,3の材質を組み合せた人工気管，人工食道，人工弁等が試用から次第に実用の段階となりつつある。このような人工乃至は代用組織は生体材料の如く免疫反応がなく，種々な目的に応じた加工が出来る点は今後新な材質の開拓と共に一層の応用と進展が期待される。

　眼科領域に於ても義眼台，成形手術をはじめとし人工水晶体，人工角膜にこれら材質が用いられつつあるのは周知の事実である。

This report is a experimental study of the rabbit corneal reaction and the changes of corneal curvature to the intralamellar inser-tion of acrylate.

Materials were tetronmeshes and methyl methacrylate discs.

The results were as follows.

1) The tetronmeshes were non-reactive when the meshes were smaller and thinner.

2) The methyl methacrylate discs, smaller than 4mm in diameter, have showed slight-est inflammation.

3) The changes of the refraction and the corneal curvature seemed to depend upon the operation-factors and were not constant.
