老人性白内障に対するカタリン点眼薬の効果について

Effect of collyrium Catalin upon senile cataract.

I．緒言

　カタリン点眼薬の老人性白内障に対する効果に関する従来の報告^1-7）は，観察期間が短く，しかも対照例を欠いている。しかるに当教室外来では昭和32年初めからカタリン点眼薬の投与を始め，満5年余りを経過し，また，昭和30年以来，従来のホマトロピンよりもはるかに安全に使用できる散瞳薬ネオシネジンが使用され始めてから，初期白内障を見出だす機会が多くなり，従つて老人性白内障のカタリン点眼例も激増しているので，私共はカタリン点眼薬の効果について充分に批判のできる段階に達したと考え，対照例との比較調査を試みたのである。

The data were collected from the clinicalnote on 2749 cases of senile cataract between January 1. 1951 and March 31. 1962 and 276 cases among them were selected for analysis according to the following principles: 1. Ob-servation period more than one year. 2. Com-pletness of clinical data. 3. No such com-plications as might disturb the visual acuity. 4. Strictly senile type. 5. Older age than 40 years. 6. No other treatment than Catalin instillation.

These cases were divided in two groups for the cenvenience of analysis: group 1. (74 cases, 106 eyes) with serial record during more than three years and group 2.
