　私が庄司教授の御厚意によつて近視の研究に手を初めたのは昭和16年で，それ以後共同研究者と共に，20余篇の近視論文を発表し，近視の発生には，眼軸，水晶体屈折力共に関係するという折衷説を唱えたが，一般には私が，従来の純眼軸論者の如く見なされている。今回，その論拠の大要を申述べ，大方の御批判を乞い，誤れる点は正したいと思う。

The author summarized all of his works which he has accomplished since 1941, criticized the opinion of Dr. Tikashi Sato and concluded that the eyelength and the refracting power of lens have both connection with genesis and progress of myopia.
