Abstract. Purpose:To report the clinical course for fourteen years of a case with superior segment optic hypoplasia and normal-tension glaucoma. Case:A 59-year-old male presented with myodesopsia in the right eye. Visual acuity was 1.0 in either eye when corrected by -3.75 diopters. Intraocular pressure was 17 mmHg in either eye. The right eye showed two horseshoe-shaped tears. The right eye was treated by laser coagulation. The right eye showed decreased width of marginal rim of the optic disc. Perimetry showed defects in the superior and inferior periphery compatible with the diagnosis of superior segment optic hypoplasia and normal-tension glaucoma. After 14 years, visual field defect corresponding to superior segment optic hypoplasia showed no change and that due to normal-tension glaucoma showed a slight progression. Conclusion:Visual field defect due to superior segment optic hypoplasia remained stable and that due to normal-tension glaucoma showed a slight progression during 14 years of observation.
