Abstract. Purpose:To report changes in thickness of circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer(cRNFL)and of ganglion cell-inner plexiform layers(GCIPL)in glaucoma eyes over 3 years. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 50 eyes of 50 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. The series comprised 27 males and 23 females. The age ranged from 29 to 82 years, average 60 years. Retinal thickness was measured using Cirrus OCT for at least 4 times over 3 years. Results:cRNFL averaged 72.3μ initially and 69.1μm 3 years later. The difference was significant(p<0.0001). GCIPL decreased significantly from 67.2μm to 65.4μm 3 years later(p=0.0001). Both values were significantly correlated(p=0.0313). Conclusion:Thickness of cRNFL and GCIPL decreased significantly over 3 years in glaucoma eyes. These modalities promises to serve as parameters of progression of glaucoma.
