Abstract. Purpose:To report 2 cases of choroidal hemangioma associated with exudative retinal detachment treated by intravitreal injection of bevacizumab. Cases:The present series comprised a 50-year-old female and a 46-year-old male. Both were unilaterally affected. Metamorphopsia and blurring of vision were chief complaints. Fluorescein angiograpy led to the diagnosis of choroidal hemangioma with exudative retinal detachment. Initial visual acuity in the affected eye was 1.0 and 0.8 respectively. One case received intravitreal injection of bevacizumab. The other case received photodynamic therapy followed by 3 sessions of intravitreal bevacizumab 10 months later. Exudative retinal detachment disappeared 3 months later in one case and persisted for 4 months in the other. Conclusion:These cases illustrate that intravitreal bevacizumab may be effective for exudative retinal detachment secondary to choroial hemangioma.
