Abstract. Purpose:To report the short-term outcome of intravitreal ranibizumab for idiopathic macular telangiectasia(IMT). Cases and Methods:This study was made on 9 eyes of 9 patients with IMT. All the cases belonged to type 1 after Yannuzzi. The series comprised 5 males and 4 females. The age ranged from 54 to 85 years, average 63 years. Visual acuity was evaluated in terms of logMAR. Foveal thickness was measured by spectral domain optical coherence tomography. Cases were followed up for 3 months. Results:Intravitreal injection was performed 1.8 times in average. Visual acuity averaged 0.19±0.11 before treatment. It improved significantly 1 and 3 months later(p<0.01 each). Foveal thickness decreased 1 month later(p<0.05)and showed no difference 3 months later. Conclusion:Intravitreal ranibizumab resulted in improved visual acuity 1 and 3 months later.
