Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of LASIK using a new femtosecond laser. Methods:A consecutive series of 378 eyes received LASIK by FEMTO LDVTM(Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems)during a 6-month period. Cases were followed up for 3 months or longer. Refraction was evaluated as spherical equivalent. Results:Refraction before treatment ranged from +3.38D to -10.25D,average -5.29D±2.15D. Three months after treatment, refraction averaged +0.04±0.30D,uncorrected visual acuity averaged 1.57±0.34,and corrected visual acuity averaged 1.64±0.30D with safety index of 1.05±0.19 and efficacy index of 1.00±0.22. Thickness of central flap averaged 110.67±3.75μm. Conclusion:LASIK using the new femtosecond laser was safe and useful and showed a high predictability of flap thickness.
