Abstract. Purpose:To report the 8-month outcome of intravitreal injection of bevacizumab for branch retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. Case and Findings:A 40-year-old male presented with metamorphopsia and visual field defect in his left eye since two days before. Corrected visual acuity was 1.5 right and 1.2 left. His left eye showed branch retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. The left eye received intravitreal injection of bevacizumab after decrease of visual acuity to 0.5 five months later. The foveal thickness decreased and visual acuity increased to 1.0 four weeks later. A second injection was performed after exacerbation of metamorphopsia 5 weeks later. Subjective and objective findings improved including those by optical coherence tomography and multifocal electroretinogram. Visual acuity is 1.2 now 8 months after the initial treatment. Conclusion:Intravitreal bevacizumab was effective for branch retinal vein occlusion with macular edema.
