Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of filtering surgery through microincision in Descemet membrane. Cases and Method:This study was made on 65 eyes of primary open-angle glaucoma or capsular glaucoma. All the eyes had intraocular pressure(IOP)of 22mmHg or over under medication. They were followed up for 12 months after surgery. Results:IOP before surgery averaged 28.1±5.9mmHg. It averaged 11.9±2.5mmHg 3 months, 12.1±2.9mmHg 6 months, and 12.7±3.2mmHg 12 months after surgery. Each value was significantly lower than the presurgical one(p<0.0001 each). Twelve months after surgery, IOP was 20mmHg or less under medication in 61 eyes(93%)and was 16mmHg or less in 57 eyes(86%). Complications included ocular hypotony 2 eyes(3%), shallow anterior chamber 2 eyes(3%), choroidal detachment 1 eye(2%), and hyposphagma 4 eyes(6%). Conclusion:Filtering surgery through microincision in Descemet membrane induced significant IOP reduction. The procedure showed low incidence of complications.
