Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of cataract surgery on 2 eyes with history of refractive surgery. Cases:The present series were both males aged 53 and 62 years respectively. One had radial keratotomy 17 years before. The other had LASIK 3 years before. Results:Both eyes became hyperopic after surgery as expected. The intraocular lens had to be replaced in the first case due to hyperopia of about +7 diopters. The axial length in this eye measured 29.06mm and was interpreted as the major cause of error in SRK formula. Conclusion:Refraction after cataract surgery may deviate from intended one when performed on eyes with previous refractive surgery. The patients ought to be instructed beforehand about this possibility.
