Purpose:To report five cases of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma of the eye. Cases and Findings:The present series comprised 2 males and 3 females. Three cases were bilaterally affected. They were aged 33, 37, 39, 55 and 62 years respectively. There was no involvement of extraocular tissue. Initial subjective symptoms included epiphora, hyperemia, itching, or conjunctival edema. Two cases had been treated as allergic conjunctivitis. Following biopsy of conjunctiva and immune staining, all cases were diagnosed with low grade, small to medium type of B cell MALT lymphoma. The tumor became smaller following radiotherapy. Conclusion:MALT lymphoma of the eye may simulate tumor of conjuntiva or eyelid, or allergic conjunctivitis. Biopsy is essential for definitive diagnosis.
