Abstract. Purpose:To identify factors for different values of intraocular pressure(IOP)by noncontact tonometer(NCT)and Goldmann applanation tonometer(GAT). Methods:A total of 228 eyes in 114 outpatients were measured for IOP by NCT and GAT,corneal thickness and width of palpebral fissure. Results:The IOP measured by NCT and GAT showed a significant correlation(p<0.000). The difference in IOP by NCT and GAT was significantly correlated with the corneal thickness(right eye:p=0.026,left eye:p=0.020). The difference by NCT and GAT readings showed no correlation with the width of palpebral fissure. Conclusion:IOP reading by NCT is influenced by corneal thickness.
