過去にわれわれが報告した症例データベースを利用して，まずはその疫学的データを示したのち，その外傷症例の治療が長期化する要因について検討した．さらに，その難治性外傷症例を検討し，労働現場で働く労働者の手外科外傷が発生した際の「重篤度を下げること」「事故そのものの発生率を下げるために取り組むべきこと」を明らかにしたわれわれの取り組み(Expert Opinion Gathering Meeting)を紹介し，また今後の展望について考察する．
