In this communication we report our experience with the use of arch support therapy in the treatment of an adolescent patient with scoliosis associated with pelvic inclination and flat feet. The immediate effects of the arch support therapy in our patient were a decrease in the laterality of the medial longitudinal arch of the foot and a favorable change in the Cobb angle from 29° before wearing the arch support, to 14° at 4 weeks after starting to wear the arch support, and, finally, to 10° at 6 months. The pelvic coronal reference line, which showed a pelvic inclination of 6° before wearing the arch support, had improved to 4° at 4 weeks after starting to wear the arch support, and to 3° at 6 months. These findings suggested that scoliosis can be improved by treatment that takes into account the kinetic chain from the foot to the lumbar region.
