　両側視床前部の梗塞により記憶障害を呈した45歳，右利き男性例を報告した。三宅式記銘力検査，Reyの複雑図形，Benton視覚記銘検査，Wechsler Memory Scale-Revised（WMS-R）で視覚性にも軽度の記憶障害が疑われるものの言語性に顕著な記憶障害を認めた。MRIで右側視床の前核，背内側核，外側腹側核，正中中心核ならびに，左側視床の背内側核，正中中心核の一部に梗塞巣を認めた。頭部99mTc-HM—PAO-SPECTで，右視床ならびに右側頭葉内側から底面に及ぶ血流の低下を認めた。本症例において，記憶障害に特異的に関与しているのは右側梗塞巣であると考えられ，言語性に優位な記憶障害を認めたことは側性化の観点から検討すべき問題を有すると思われた。その解釈として，言語性記憶の側性化が，右側に優位となっている可能性を考慮することが妥当と考えられた。

We encountered a 45-year-old right-handed man who had suffered a predominant right thalamic infarction and complained of memory loss. Perfor-mance on the Miyake Test (recall of ten pairs of related and unrelated words), the Rey Osterrieth Complex Figures, the Benton Test of Visual Reten-tion and the Wechsler Memory Scale-R disclosed a severe verbal memory disturbance associated with a little, if any, visual memory disturbance.
