As general experiences, the Stereotaxic Thalamo-tomy is proved effective for the hypertonic state of the rigidity-type in Parkinsonism very dramatically. And then, its method is applied to treatment for the another extrapyramidal disorders.

Based on this findings, we has operated one case of ls. postapoplectic hemiplegia due to the cerebral infarction, and effect after operation was marked success.

The patient, male, 53 years old, has shown the ls. Wernicke-Mann typed posture clinically, and then, the hypertonic state by stretch reflex using the EMG.

Before the operation, this case has treated the inner-medicine and the physical rehabilitation, but the motor disturbance is not improved.

Effects of stereotaxic operation for this case is the fact that the ls. finger movements and gait is easier than before the operation, therefore the rehabili-tation is proved the good results.
