A patient, 44-year-old, miner. Suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning, on Nov. 9. 1963, which broke out owing to coal dust explosion in Miike Coal Mine.

After the initial unconsiousness for about 6 hours, he recovered with headache. After an interval of thirty-five days, nocturnal delirium, Korsakow's symptoms appeared. And So-calld Sudeck's syn-drome of the right upper limb was observed, which consists of motor disturbances, causalgic pain, hy-perpathia, edema, swelling, pallar, sweat, cold, atrophy of the bone and muscle and Dupuytren like contracture. At times, disturbances of superficial and deep sensation, weakness, hypotonia, hypo-reflexies, hemi-ataxia on the right half side, was associated. Moreover, on the right hand, transient motor hallucination, loss of body image and ste-reognosia was observed.

One year after, owing to discontent of the com-pensation, psychogenic reaction which consists of demonstrable Romberg's sign, intentional tremor, pseudodementia and constriction of visual field was occured.

The patient_was followed for four years and these symptoms was remained. The relations between the Sudeck's syndrome and the thalamic syndrome were discussed.
