  • Look Inside

We medicated benzodiazepine derivative (Diazepam) for 10 in-patients with neurotic complaints and researched about the effects on EEG, flicker test and minor tremors. 10mg Diazepam was dissolved in 10 cc physiologic saline and this solution was injected gradually into cubital vein. There were β-activities on all cases in EEG, and as times went, β-activities have become more dominant. These were considered as the special pattern conditioned with benzodiazepine derivatives.

Sedative and tranquilizing effects on the cases were observed in minor tremor and flicker tests. Probably these effects meant that benzodiazepine derivatives act upon subcortex and limbic systems.
