慢性メプロバメート中毒の1例—その脳波活動と副作用をめぐつて

A CASE OF CHRONIC MEPROBAMATE INTOXICATION AND ITS SIDE EFFECTS

はじめに

　Tranquillizerが誌上を賑わしはじめて，すでにかなりの年月を経ているが，とりわけ，Mepro-bamateは市販のルートを通じて一般家庭にも深く浸透し，すでにアメリカでは相当の普及率を見せていることが伝えられている^1）。

　米国麻薬委員会は若干の試料を元として，Tranquillizerの無害性を打ちだしたが，反面，W．H．O．麻薬委員会がその社会的ないしは身体的な面での悪影響を考慮し，その乱用の傾向に警告を発している事実^1）2）も耳新らしい。

1) 27 years male patient who addicted to Meprobamate for 3 years and before admis-sion took 5-7g. daily, was observed.

2) Through ingesting, side effects of this drug was follows. Drowsyness,Hyporexia, Difficulty with Concentration, Slow Think-ing, Lack of Initiative and etc. in taking.

Slurred Speech, Hyporexia, Feeling of Weak-ness of Extremities,Derealisation and etc. in withdrawal. And once Edema of face and limbs which was suggested angioneurotic cause, appeared.

3) EEG in taking this drug showed Loss of alpha-wave and Appearance of betha-wave dominantly.

4) 34 hours after abrupt withdrawal of Meprobamate, EEG showed extremely Dys-rhythmia and following to intravenous injec-tion of 25mg. Megimide, then Grand Mal Seizure occured.

5) Gradually with passing of the time,EE-G activity returned to normal.
