  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

This paper deals with a case of congenital toxoplasmosis in this country.

A 13-year-old girl presented such sympto-ms as paralysis of the left side of the body, dysopsia, exotropia, chorioretinitis, calcifica-tion of the brain, internal hydrocephalus, mental retardation and convulsion: and toxo-plasma was detected in the cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles. Both the patient and her mother showed positive reactions to the to-xoplasmin skin test, the Sabin&Feldman's dye test and the serum complementfixation test.

In Japan a dozen of cases of this disease have been reported since 1956.

The ratient was treated with daraprim and sulfadiazin, but their effects were hardly perceived.
