線状体と視床汎性投射核との機能的関係について猫を用いて電気生理学的検索を行い,次の事実を明かにした。
1.線状体と視床汎性投射核とは相互に増強反応を惹起する。線状体は大脳皮質に増強反応を惹起する。
2.視床に増強反応を惹起する部位は尾状核,被殼(線状体)及び淡蒼球である。いずれの核においても内包に近接する部位に反応が著明である。
3.線状体及び淡蒼球に増強反応を惹起する視床部位は汎性投射核の一部,とくに髄板内核である。網様核はこの反応を発現しない。
4.線状体及び淡蒼球からの皮質増強反応は視床の破壊によつて阻害される。
5.線状体と視床との機能的関係について得た所見に基いて,線状体の機能的意義を考察した。
The funktional relationship between stria-tum and diffse thalamic projection system is investigated on the cat's brain.
The results are as follows:
1. Striatum and diffuse thalamic projec-tion system are functionally interconnected with each other so closely that the stimula-tion to one of them produces recruiting re-sponses on the other.
2. The structures which produce the re-cruiting response on the thalamus lie in nu-cl. caudatus, putamen (striatum) and globus pallidus. In these nuclei recruiting responses on thalamus is most markedly induced by stimulation of their portions adjacent to in-ternal capsule.
3. The thalamic nuclei which produce re-cruiting responses on striatum and globus pallidus belong to the diffuse thalamic pro-jection system, especially to intralaminar group.
4. The recruiting response on the cortex which is elicited by stimulation to striatum and globus pallidus is inhibited by destruc-tion of the thalamus.
5. On the basis of these findings about the relationship between striatum and thalamus the authors have discussed on the functional significance of striatum.
