  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

With 19 cases of Japanese encephalitis in recent years, distribution of glia nodules and perivascular infiltration were estimated math-ematically on routine slides of various parts of the brain. As a whole, thalamus was affected most severely and cerebellum at the least. Most cases were dead on the 6th hospital day. There seems to be a certain corelation betwee n age incidence and intensity of the focal le sions. Children and old subjects were affected frequently There was no autopsy case of middle ag. es. Other morbid changes e. g., that of the lung, liver, spleen, kidneys, suprarenals and thyroid were described. There was no de-finite lesion complicating Japanese encephalitis.
