  • Look Inside

A 29-year-old male had felt arrhythmia and dyspnea on effort from January 1995. On April 18 th, 1995, he was admitted for sudden left hemiparalysis and speech dis-turbance. Cerebral angiography detected occulusion of the right medial cerebral artery. Heart examination detected atrial fibrillation and left heart dysfunction. The patient had cyanosis, clubbed finger, polycythemia and hypoxia. To clarify the reason for left heart dysfun-ction and hypoxia, Angiography was carried out. Right pulmonary angiography detected multiple pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas in segment 10. It was suspected the at these were the origin for syanosis and cerebral infarction. In this case helical volume scan was used. It is helpful for understanding the three dimentional posi-tion of pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas.
