  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 20 year-old man who had a history of Kawasaki disease at the age of nine years was admitted to our hospital because of recurrent chest oppression. Al-though electrocardiograms both at rest and during exercise as well as thallium-201 myocardial scanning revealed no abnormal findings, selective coronary arteriogram demonstrated severe stenotic lesion in the right coronary artery, which extended from the orifice to the distal portion. Since there were no other coronary risk factors responsible for athero-sclerosis, we made a diagnosis of angina pectoris as a sequel of Kawasaki disease.

It is emphasized that many of adult persons who have experienced Kawasaki disease in their childhood may develop coronary artery disease in the future.
