  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Arterial and mixed venous blood prostaglandins (PGs) in 16 patients with pulmonary emphysema were measured by a radioimmunoassay.

PGs levels for the patients with pulmonary emphysema were not significantly different from those in normals. Arterial and mixed venous blood PGs levels for the patients with pulmonary emphysema did not correlated with arterial oxygen partial pressure and pulmonary arterial pressure. These results suggested that PGs might not play an important role in the patho-genesis of pulmonary emphysema.
