  • Look Inside

It is the general principle that the mechanical assisted device operates synchronously with the living heart. The effectiveness of assisted circu-lation is thus largely influenced by the method of synchronization employed. Usually, utilizing the R wave of the EKG, the approximate time for R wave to the closure of the aortic valve is presented in an experimental formula. For the method of synchronization it is the general principle to apply this formula and effect an auto-matic delay.
