The recent practice of right and left heart catheterization has led to the study of the cir—culatory dynamics of systemic and pulmonary circulation in acquired heart diseases. This study is useful for pathophysiological inter—pretation for basic medicine workers, as well as diagnosis for physicians and operative indi—cation for surgeons. As part of the present series of study a report has previously been made of the circulatory dynamics in acquired valvular diseases.1) This report gives stress to the mechanism of pulmonary hypertension in mitral valvular diseases.
