We performed the coronary venous cathe—terization in twenty four cases of man andfive dogs in order to interpret the evalua—ted pressure and pressure pattern fncorona—ry slnus or cardiac veins at rest.
1) The evaluated pressure of the obstr—ucted coronary venous pressure showedabout as twice as higher than that ofnon obstructed.
2) The pressure patterns of the nonobstructed coronary venous pressureare classified ln two types; Atrlal andVentrlcular type.
These pressure patterns are chiefly refl—ected by the right atrial pressure wave, while the ventricular type may belnfluenced by the cycllc variatfon ofthe coronary blood flow.
3) The pressure patterns of the obstru—cted coronary venous pressure are clas—sified in two types; Ventricular andArterial type.
These pressure patterns are probablyinfluenced by the mechanical factorssuch as auricular contraction, coronaryblood How, myocardial contraction andthe transmission of aortic pressure.
