A 51 year-old woman visited Tokyo Medical College Hospital on December 13, 1982 for detailed examination of her gastric abnormality which had been suspected of malignancy by mass survey.
Endoscopy with GIF-Q done on December 13, 1982 revealed a shallow depressed lesion of the mucosal membrane with converging folds on the posterior wall of the incisura region. The converging folds were interrupted at the margin of the lesion. The diagnosis of IIc type early cancer was made. Biopsy was positive for cancer (signet-ring cell carcinoma).
