The patient was a 46-year-old woman with chief complaint of a pain in the epigastrium. The x-ray and endoscopic examination of the stomach revealed a giant ulcer at the angle. As the biopsy highly suggested a malignant lymphoma of the stomach, she underwent a gastric resection.

Histological study of the specimens obtained in the operation revealed a sarcoid granuloma in the lamina propria mucosae in the region caudal to the ulcer. The same changes were also observed in the regional lymph node, liver and spleen. The ulcer was benign, Ul-Ⅱ, and no malignant lymphoma could be seen.

There have been only nineteen cases of gastric sarcoid in our country to date. The relationship between a giant ulcer of the stomach and gastric sarcoid was discussed.
