It has become possible through the development of capsule endoscopy and double-balloon endoscopy to detect small small-bowel tumors which could not be detected by conventional abdominal CT or ultrasonigraphy. Non epithlial small-bowel tumors are malignant lymphoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, lymphnangioma, hemangioma, and lipoma. Among small-size examples of these lesions, follicular lymphoma, hemangioma, and lymphangioma were common in our cases. It was impossible to detect these small lesions by CT and ultrasonography, but capsule endoscopy and double-balloon endoscopy succeeded in doing so.
