We investigated 131 submucosal invasive colorectal carcinomas in 128 patients who underwent endoscopic resection (ER) between 1994 and 2002. We classified them into the guideline-non-indication group and the guideline-indication group. Furthermore, we classified them respectively into the additional operation group and non-operation group. No metastasis occurred in the guideline-indication group, but liver metastasis occurred in the guideline-non-indication group. Therefore, the guideline-non-indication group should be followed up carefully.
