はじめに

　外耳道外骨腫とは，長期間にわたる慢性的な冷水刺激により外耳道骨部に生じる骨性の隆起であり，サーフィンを行う人々に高頻度にみられるために「サーファーズイヤー」^1）とも呼ばれている。軽度の外耳道狭窄で無症状の場合には手術適応はないが，狭窄が高度で伝音難聴，耳漏などの症状がある場合は手術を検討することが多い。福島県いわき市ならびにその周辺の地域ではサーフィンが盛んであり，サーファーズイヤーの患者がしばしばみられる。いわき市医療センター耳鼻咽喉科（以下当科）では主には耳内切開による外耳道外骨腫摘出術を行っており，その患者背景，手術手技および術後成績について報告する。

　Exostosis of the external auditory canal（surfer's ear） is a bony prominence in the bony part of the external auditory canal caused by long-term chronic cold-water irritation. Eleven surfer's ear surgical cases were encountered in our hospital over a three-year period from March 2021 to May 2024. All patients were male, ranging in age from 17 to 52 years. The surgical procedure is almost always performed through an endaural incision, with good results in all cases and without complications. This report demonstrates that endaural incision is a useful approach.
