はじめに

　傍骨性脂肪腫は骨皮質に局在する良性腫瘍であり，骨膜内の多方向性の間葉系の変調（modulation）から発生する新生物と考えられる^1）。本疾患は長管骨の骨幹部で最も多くみられ^1），頭頸部領域において，下顎骨に発生した傍骨性脂肪腫の報告はきわめて稀である^2〜4）。今回われわれは下顎骨より発生した傍骨性脂肪腫を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　A 66-year-old man was referred to our department for the evaluation of right mandibular swelling. Imaging findings indicated the possibility of a lipoma with mandibular ossification. The lesion was completely excised using an external incision. Pathological examination revealed bone with fatty marrow and an encapsulated mass mostly comprising adipose tissue, resulting in the final diagnosis of parosteal lipoma. There was no sign of recurrence 7 months after the surgical treatment.
