要旨●WHO分類では,PCCs(poorly cohesive carcinomas)の中でSRC typeとnon-SRC type(PCC-NOS)に区別されている.
According to the World Health Organization(WHO), poorly cohesive carcinomas(PCCs)is categorized into SRC and non-SRC type(Poorly Cohesive Carcinoma-Not Otherwise Specified [PCC-NOS]). Signet ring cell(SRC)arises from the glandular neck region of the stomach, typically forming a layered structure that mimics gastric differentiation. Signet ring cell carcinoma(SRCC)cell lines have been shown to reproduce the typical behavior of SRCs, including the differentiation of small cells with a high nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio into the characteristic SRCs. Although SRC is generally associated with a poor prognosis, some studies suggest that tumors containing a high proportion of SRC components may have better outcomes. In this review, we can provide an overview of the morphological development and progression of SRC.
