Perioperative Management of Allergies：Preface and Comments

　アレルギーをもつ患者の周術期の管理法や麻酔中のアナフィラキシーへの対処をはじめとする周術期を中心としたアレルギーについての最新の知識を習得することは，麻酔科医にとって必須であると考え，本特集を企画した。

　This special issue focuses on the perioperative management of allergies, discussed by experts in this field. Following the recent summary of allergies and anaphylaxis, including terminology and therapeutics, the perioperative management of patients with allergic reactions due to anesthetics, muscle relaxants, antibiotics, disinfectants, iodine, metals, latex, foods, or blood products is described in detail. Additionally, insights are shared on the perioperative management of patients with bronchial asthma with specific reference to allergic reactions. This issue may be helpful to anesthesiologists facing allergies and/or anaphylaxis in the perioperative period.
