I．はじめに

　ossifying fibromaは骨の良性腫瘍であり，長管骨は少なく頭蓋・顔面骨に好発するといわれる。しかし下顎骨，上顎骨についての報告がほとんどであり側頭骨に発生するものはきわめて稀とされている^1〜3）。今回私どもは12歳の小児の側頭骨にみられたossifying fibroma症例を経験したので，fibrous dysplasiaとの鑑別も含め若干の文献的考察を加えてその臨床経過の概要を報告する。

　A 12-year-old female with ossifying fibroma of the temporal bone was reported, and the problems were discussed and the available literatures on this disease were reviewed. She had been suffering from light dull pain of the temporal area for several months. On the first visit there were abnormal findings in skull x-ray films and swelling of the right temporal region. Histological examination revealed typical features of an ossifying fibroma. Ossifying fibroma of the temporal bone is very rare, and this is a first case showing no hearing impairment. The diagnostic findings were discussed in making differential diagnosis of ossifying fibroma from fibrous dysplasia.
