　I．緒言

　下顎骨骨折は，我々耳鼻科医にとってそれ程多く遭遇する疾患ではない。しかし，咬合不全という日常生活上の重大な障害をおこすために確実な治療を行う必要がある。

　我々は，昭和55年8月より56年10月までの間に4例の下顎骨骨折を経験し，年齢，性別，歯牙の状態，咬合不全の程度などを考慮し，各々の症例に施行すべき整復法を検討した結果，後述する異なった3種類の整復法を適応することとなった。耳鼻科医が今後この疾患に遭遇した際に考えるべき問題点や，最も適した整復方法について考察したので報告する。

　In this study, three different methods of reposition were performed in four cases of fracture of the mandible with careful consideration to the various problems such as physical discomfort, inability to eat properly and others.

　As the result, the plate retention method utilizing the A. O. set was considerably better, with the exception of the deciduous tooth period in children.

　Therefore, this method seemed most reliable and simplest, and caused the least discomfort to patients than any other methods. However, it is thought that various methods of reposition dealing with fractures of the mandible must be learned because in an operation the most appropriate method should be selected according to each individual case.
